Die Spitz – #LiveInPhilly
Die Spitz, the all-female quartet from Texas, stormed onto the Foto Club stage last night, igniting a chaotic and exhilarating inferno of punk rock energy. Their raw, unfiltered sound, reminiscent of the riot grrrl movement, coupled with their infectious stage presence, created an unforgettable experience for the crowd on this rainy, stormy night.
From the moment they stormed the stage [er… well they popped up from behind amps or cymbols] , it was clear that this was a band on a mission to unleash pure, unadulterated rock ‘n’ roll.
With a sound that blends punk, grunge, and garage rock elements, Die Spitz crafted a sonic maelstrom that captivated the audience from start to finish. Their songs are a potent cocktail of raw energy, catchy melodies, and rebellious spirit. The band’s tight-knit chemistry was evident as they seamlessly transitioned between blistering guitar riffs, thunderous drumbeats, and infectious basslines.
Frontwoman Ava commanded the stage with a raw intensity that was both magnetic and intimidating. The Lollipop helped!! Her energy, raw and gritty, perfectly complemented the band’s power and fun. Her stage presence was a force to be reckoned with, as she whipped the crowd into a frenzy with her energetic performance.
The band’s setlist was a perfect blend of high-octane anthems and slower, more introspective moments. Highlights included the opening number “I hate when GIRLS die”, or when Ava was on her hands and knees in the middle of the crowd – on the disco floor, no less. Each song was delivered with a ferocity that left the audience breathless.
Die Spitz’s live show is a testament to the power of female musicianship. They are a breath of fresh air in a music scene that often feels stale and predictable. With their infectious energy and undeniable talent, it’s clear that Die Spitz are destined for greatness.
If you’re a fan of raw, unfiltered rock ‘n’ roll, do yourself a favor and catch Die Spitz live. You won’t be disappointed.
