“Pretend We’re Dead” is a 1992 song by grunge band L7, from the album Bricks Are Heavy. The song was written and sung by Donita Sparks.
This is one of my fave L7 songs. I love the grunginess of it – it sounds (and feels) kinda dirty. A song you don’t want to let your parents know you are listening to. It fit in well with the rest of the album – and is a song I often put on playlists to ramp them up a little bit.
This is a great performance – on stage at The Troc in Philly, as part of their 2015 tour. In front of a full house the ladies showed they can rock with the best of them.
