Flatwaves – Philly’s finest in the shoegaze arena, live on stage at PhilaMOCA – at the top of a bill packed full of (my) faves.
Flatwaves is a Philadelphia-based 4-piece garage-gaze band on Abandon Everything Records, playing an atmospheric swirl of contemporary psychedelia and retro shoegaze. Their sound is haunting and dreamy with reverb-drenched guitars, heavy backbeats, and cavernous vocals. This is music that aims for disorientation, skirting the collective unconscious, and will make you feel like you woke up in a desert motel with no idea how you got there.
